  • Din Tai Fung will open its 10,000 sqft venue at Scottsdale Fashion Square in April 2026 — seating 340 diners and serving Taiwanese dishes like Xiao Long bao in a desert-inspired space with gold accents and red signage.  The Arizona Republic

CULTURE NEWS

  • Barrett-Jackson Auction returns to Scottsdale from Jan. 17 to 25 at WestWorld featuring classic and modern supercars with no reserve, including a restored 1955 Mercedes and a 2019 McLaren Senna. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Scottsdale Unified closed two schools in December to save $3 million amid a valley-wide enrollment drop driven by higher home prices+ lower birth rates and expanded voucher programs. The decision reflects cost-cutting measures by districts responding to shifting local demographics.  The Arizona Republic

HEALTH NEWS

  • Maricopa County health officials reported an adult measles case from international travel that led to hospitalization, marking the county's first confirmed case amid Arizona’s outbreak with over 200 cases since June. Officials advise residents to check vaccination records to protect against the highly contagious virus.  KJZZ

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • WM and Novel Ice Cream are teaming up to launch the WMPO Green Dream ice cream flavor at the WM Phoenix Open event. The mint flavor with chocolate chips and pretzels will be sold Feb. 3-8 and 20% of sales will go to a local sustainability fund.  Scottsdale Independent
