  • Burrito Express will open its newest Fast and Fresh location at a Circle K store — adding a fresh option for local diners on Monday, Jan. 26.  Scottsdale Independent

CULTURE NEWS

  • Parker McCollum will headline at Desert Diamond Arena (9400 W. Maryland Ave. in Glendale) on Saturday, Jan. 24 with special guests Jake Worthington and William Beckmann, and tickets start at $28.05 online. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. before the show begins at 7:30 p.m.  The Arizona Republic
  • Twelve Arizona chefs and restaurants were named James Beard Foundation Awards semifinalists on Jan. 21, earning nominations for Best Chef - Southwest, Best New Restaurant, and Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service.   • Scottsdale Art Week presented by Scottsdale Ferrari will run March 19–22, 2026 at WestWorld of Scottsdale (16601 N Pima Road) and feature 120 international galleries with panel discussions that bring together museum directors, curators, artists, and scholars to discuss current art trends.  Scottsdale Independent

  • The City of Scottsdale warns residents about phishing emails — these messages falsely claim to be from city staff and ask for payment through suspicious links and attachments.  Scottsdale Independent
  • Representative Leo Biasiucci introduced bipartisan legislation to ban taxing SNAP and WIC-eligible foods amid rising grocery costs. The bill, which requires a public vote before any municipality (such as Scottsdale and Tempe) can raise taxes, follows a similar effort from last year.  ABC15 Arizona

SPORTS NEWS

  • Two Arizona State players are projected to secure first round NFL Draft selections on April 23. Jordyn Tyson is forecast to join the Cleveland Browns at No. 6, while CB Keith Abney II is expected to be picked by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 32.  The Arizona Republic
  • The Arizona State football team released its 2026 schedule on Jan. 21, detailing a season opener against Morgan State on Sept. 5 at Mountain America Stadium, a road game at Texas A&M on Sept. 12, and matchups in London and Tucson later in the season.  The Arizona Republic
