  • HonorHealth uses parking fees collected near Scottsdale Stadium during San Francisco Giants spring training games to fund scholarships for local students pursuing careers in health care. The program, active since the late '90s (awarding five scholarships of $5,000 each, sometimes raised to $6,000), supports future medical professionals.  Scottsdale Independent
  • Child Crisis Arizona partners with SRP, State Farm, and local firefighter charities to offer free pool fences and water-safety workshops for families with children age 6 or younger in Maricopa County.   • Scottsdale Arts will celebrate its 50th anniversary at the ARTrageous Gala on April 11 at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in the valley have risen by 11 cents over the past week to an average of $3.41 a gallon compared to $3.30, and pump prices are expected to climb as spring approaches - AAA Mountain West Group spokesperson Julian Paredes said seasonal factors will drive the change.  Scottsdale Independent

  • Valley of the Sun United Way launched a billboard campaign today featuring former Cardinals player Calais Campbell to raise awareness about chronic absenteeism as part of its Project SAAM initiative; the program partners with nine Maricopa County school districts to reduce barriers—funded by the Helios Education Foundation.  Arizona Digital Free Press

  • The Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo used several regulars in his spring training opener yesterday at Salt River Fields + many of these players are set to join the Opening Day lineup next month before heading to the World Baseball Classic.  The Arizona Republic
  • The sixth annual PCH50 Pickleball Championships, known as 'pickle with purpose', will be held Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Center Court Pickleball on E.
