ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Early Saturday, a large natural gas leak at the Omni construction site near 56th Street and East Mayo Boulevard in north Scottsdale forced the safe evacuation of workers and led to Mayo Boulevard’s closure at 73rd Street while fire crews and Southwest Gas assessed the leak.  ABC15 Arizona

  • Frank and Lupe's, a family-owned restaurant known for its signature carne asada burrito recipe, will reopen in spring at Gainey Ranch under new ownership that will honor its long-standing traditions. The updated location (8787 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 214) reflects the restaurant’s enduring local legacy.  The Arizona Republic

  • At a Feb. 24 council meeting, Barry Graham asked how much subsidy WestWorld of Scottsdale should get as economist Alex Keen showed it ran a $6.2 million deficit last year after debt service and repairs compared with a $4.2 million loss the prior year, even while boosting local business.  Scottsdale Independent

HEALTH NEWS

  • On New Year’s Eve, Ali and Matt went to HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center (where tests found a rare heart infection) before being transferred to HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center; Ali delivered her daughter by C-section and then had open-heart surgery, with her baby now showing improvement in the NICU.  Arizona Digital Free Press

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Scottsdale home sales in the last month dropped 7.2% with 271 homes sold, yet the median price rose 2.7% to $1.35M and the average climbed 4.9% to $1.85M compared to January 2025. Inventory and days on market also increased + reflecting a typical winter slowdown.  East Valley Tribune
