- ➤ A national happiness study finds Scottsdale ranked third among 182 cities, with over 88 percent of residents reporting good health. Six Arizona communities also made the top 30 thanks to strong income and community satisfaction. KTAR
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Scottsdale has received a $25,000 recycling grant from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality to launch a yearlong food waste diversion pilot at select fire stations, and Scottsdale Solid Waste Services will oversee staff training and performance tracking (quarterly reports will guide improvements). Gallego introduced an amendment in the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act to expand research into innovative therapies for veterans, while a Scottsdale trial led by Dr. Sue Sisley tests whole psilocybin mushrooms in group therapy for trauma-related issues (including PTSD and depression) with FDA approval and therapy dogs providing comfort.
