  • Eileen Rogers, a local entrepreneur and executive coach who built a multimillion-dollar company and served the community, was inducted into the Scottsdale History Makers Hall of Fame — her leadership and service are featured on Ep. 116 of Today and Tomorrow in Scottsdale.  Scottsdale Independent

  • Valley restaurant The Henry has opened its third North Scottsdale location at 7000 E. Mayo Blvd. The new site features a blend of antique and modern design (warm wood, marble, and leather finishes) that welcomes guests.  Scottsdale Independent

EDUCATION NEWS

  • West-MEC’s Project SEARCH program helps disabled students build skills for stable employment, with 85% of participants finding jobs after training at local sites (the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel and Luke Air Force Base).   • Esther Henseleit, the Olympic medal-winning golfer, chose Scottsdale and Troon Country Club for full-time training because of the Valley's great weather and first-rate facilities. She moved from Germany to enjoy easier travel and local support on the LPGA Tour.  Scottsdale Independent
  • Veteran relievers Jonathan Loaisiga and Joe Ross secured spots on the Diamondbacks’ Opening Day bullpen after strong spring training and proven roles in relief pitching. The team announced the move on March 22 (positioning six right-handers for the season opener tomorrow).  The Arizona Republic
  • Manchester City and Barcelona fans unite at The Kettle Black Kitchen and other local venues to watch international soccer ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
