  • Scottsdale’s Museum of the West unveiled its multimillion-dollar expansion featuring the new Louis Sands IV Center Tuesday, adding four galleries to its 12,000 sqft facility. Members will have exclusive access on Friday while the public is invited to a free celebration on Saturday (Unmistakably West).  KTAR

  • On March 18, Fitch downgraded HonorHealth (a Scottsdale-based nonprofit) from an A-plus rating to A, citing high strategic spending linked to its $600M expansion. CEO Todd LaPorte said the system remains on a transformational mission.  ABC15 Arizona

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Afghanistan's Taliban released Arizona native Dennis Coyle on Tuesday around Eid al-Fitr after more than a year in detention, and he is headed home to family in the Phoenix area (mediation was led by the UAE and Qatar).  KTAR

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Maricopa County Department of Public Health reported Monday that heat-related deaths declined for the second year, which officials credit to partnerships among local communities (the new 2026 heat response action plan will support future efforts).  Scottsdale Independent

  • Travelers facing long airport wait times can enroll in TSA PreCheck for easier security today. The program remains open at Sky Harbor and enrollment centers near Scottsdale Airport, costing ($76 to $85) for a five-year membership.  The Arizona Republic
