- ➤ A recent study by 4Imprint.com (published March 25) found Dutch Bros is Arizona’s most popular drive-through coffee chain based on Google Trends data. The chain moved its headquarters to Tempe in 2025 and remains a local favorite for quick coffee fix. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ Costco will open its first standalone gas station in Mission Viejo in June. The retailer has not yet planned a similar location in Scottsdale, and current warehouse stations continue to serve members & offer fuel at competitive prices. The Arizona Republic
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Recent changes in California's fuel policies led to two refinery closures that raised gasoline prices in Arizona. As of March 20, residents paid about $4.46 per gallon for regular gas while Californians paid around $5.66 per gallon (40 to 45 percent of Arizona's supply comes from California). - ➤ After spring break, Scottsdale Unified resumed classes Monday, March 23, and the board approved a 2% raise for all employee groups effective this fall to add $3 million in spending while boosting teacher and administrator pay by about $2,000–$3,000. The board also cut support staff positions (a move that may lead to a deficit of around $5 million). Scottsdale Progress
- ➤ Nine East Valley school districts filed a response on March 16 at Maricopa County Superior Court to challenge EVIT's court filing, arguing that EVIT wrongly claims broad authority over CTE funding for satellite programs run by districts. The move seeks to ensure compliance with Arizona law and require shared decision-making. East Valley Tribune

- ➤ Governor Katie Hobbs launched Power AZ on March 24 to help residents pay utility bills amid extreme heat by expanding aid to 30,000 households.
