- ➤ Scottsdale Community Bank announced on April 10 that its founders earned Hall of Fame honors. Frank Jacobson was recognized for his community service while Joe Garagiola, Jr. was honored by the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame for his role in launching the Diamondbacks—serving as the team's original general manager. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police arrested Tradarian Clewis and Reginald Kimbrough on suspicion of aggravated assault, burglary and kidnapping after they broke into a guest room at a resort near Scottsdale and Indian School roads on April 8 at about 3 a.m.—the victim was later found safe at a nearby residence. - ➤ Arizona's driver's licenses now include a hidden design visible under black light—showing a howling coyote on the front and a Monument Valley scene on the back—to help officers check that the card is real. - ➤ City of Hope held its grand opening last Friday for a new 30,000‑square‑foot cancer treatment center in north Scottsdale that offers oncology exams, infusion treatments and radiation to cut travel times for local patients.
