  • On April 21, employees from Fellow Osteria and Pizzeria served restaurant quality Italian meals to around 75 unhoused people at Community House in Scottsdale. The nonprofit opens its doors every Monday to provide showers, food, clothing and relief from the heat — a steady support for those in need.  Scottsdale Independent

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A man was hospitalized after a bee swarm attacked him near Scottsdale Airport Saturday morning—firefighters found the bees in a utility box at Northsight Boulevard and Raintree Drive and a utility provider with a local beekeeper are working to remove the swarm.  ABC15 Arizona

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Scottsdale City Manager Greg Caton reorganized the city’s administration by cutting top positions including Public Works Director Dan Worth and Transportation Director Mark Melynchenko, prompting a sharp debate among local officials. Former councilwoman Linda Milhaven said the swift cuts removed valuable experience — while other council members defended the changes as part of a move to create a leaner government.  Scottsdale Progress

  • April marks Testicular Cancer Awareness Month, and health experts say 1 in 250 men may develop the disease, so men are urged to perform self-exams for early detection.
