Good morning, Scottsdale.

The Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra will perform its final concert of the season on May 11 at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts with a Connected Through Music theme.

The program will include cellist Peter Eom playing Dvorak's Cello Concerto in B Minor, Henry Flurry’s Fanfare for My City, and William Grant Still’s Symphony No. 1—accompanied by a 20-minute pre-concert chat called Behind the Baton at 3:15 p.m.

Scottsdale student Rosie Eden—a classics major and Scottsdale Preparatory Academy alumna—was named salutatorian at Princeton University for the Class of 2025 and is set to deliver remarks at the commencement on May 27 at Princeton Stadium.

A lawmaker at the State Capitol said they voted no on Senate Bill 1543—calling it a corporate handout that would shift light industrial land to hotels and multifamily projects without proper public input.

Nearly 27,000 Scottsdale residents signed a petition for a referendum to stop the zoning changes and defend their right to vote on the plan.
