- ➤ Yesterday, Gov. Katie Hobbs ordered flags on state buildings to be lowered from sunrise to sunset to honor retired Maj. Gen. Glen W. (Bill) Van Dyke. He died April 24 at 86 after decades of service as Arizona’s adjutant general and emergency affairs director. KTAR
- ➤ The City of Scottsdale report shows a 5% rise in daily traffic volumes between 2022 and 2024 accompanied by a drop in total collisions from 3,905 to 3,629 and a decline in traffic fatalities from 30 to 22. Mayor Lisa Borowsky said data and collaboration have helped improve street safety. Scottsdale Independent
- ➤ State transportation officials announced that parts of SR 51, I-17 and Loop 101 will be closed or restricted from today until Monday, May 11 for pavement improvements — northbound SR 51 will be closed between Northern Avenue and Cactus Road from 9 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Monday.
