  • Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus-Pine Council received a $50K grant from Thunderbirds Charities to expand its Impact Program—an effort that gives leadership training, hands-on activities, and supplies to over 500 girls in Maricopa County.  Scottsdale Independent
  • Scottsdale will host an Accessible Scottsdale Community Open House at the Granite Reef Senior Center (1700 N. Granite Reef Road) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 29, where community members can share their experiences to help update the city’s ADA Transition Plan.  Scottsdale Independent

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Scottsdale City Council held a retreat on May 13 at a meeting room near the airport where Mayor Lisa Borowsky clashed with other members over agendas and team building—heated exchanges revealed deep divisions over leadership and key project cancellations.   • Scottsdale will host an Accessible Scottsdale Community Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 29 at Room 2 in the Granite Reef Senior Center — the event will let residents learn about and provide input on updates to the city's ADA Transition Plan that aims to remove barriers to access.
