  • Scottsdale Leadership graduated Class 40, 46 community leaders, on May 8 in Scottsdale who completed four service-learning projects to support local nonprofits.   • Water users from Arizona and Colorado River communities urged Congress to offer at least $2 billion for drought programs to sustain water, food and energy amid a 26-year megadrought; the request follows stalled prior federal investments.  KJZZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Emmanuel Damas, a 56-year-old Haitian man detained at a Florence facility, died at a Scottsdale hospital on March 2 from a chest infection and dental complications, as an autopsy report released Monday confirmed; his family attorney said he had declined recommended dental treatment despite repeated pleas.  Scottsdale Independent
