CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Scottsdale Art Week will return at WestWorld from March 19—22, 2026, following its successful debut that drew over 14,000 visitors with art from nine countries. The event will expand its offerings with sessions on collecting sports memorabilia, Latinx art and artificial intelligence in creativity and will continue a collaboration with local and regional art partners. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ ASU and the CDH Charitable Foundation announced a new scholarship fund in honor of former reporter Richard de Uriarte, who taught and worked in Arizona until his passing in September 2024. The fund will begin by awarding two high school graduates $5,000 a year for up to four years and will expand in its fourth year to support eight students yearly — extending his legacy of mentorship. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Scottsdale moved its 19-member code enforcement team from Planning and Development Services to the Police Department to better handle property, zoning, and public nuisance issues. The change will take effect on June 1—inspectors will continue performing their daily tasks. Scottsdale Independent
