- ➤ Scottsdale’s McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is marking its 50th anniversary by unveiling new summer attractions (aimed at boosting visitor numbers) including a renovated outdoor playground, a 10,000-square-foot indoor play facility called The Roundhouse, and a 5,000-square-foot splash pad that will open in July. The park is also upgrading its entry plaza with new seating, landscaping and art (funded in part by a $13.1 million bond approved in 2019) to enhance family fun. City Sun Times

- ➤ Scottsdale’s millionaire count reached 14,800 last year, a 125% increase over the previous decade that puts the city ahead of nearly every global wealth hub — except Shenzhen. ABC15 Arizona
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Scottsdale City Council unanimously approved the tentative 2025-26 budget during its May 20 meeting—cutting $4 million from the original proposal—and set the total at $2.204 billion. Councilwoman Solange Whiteheads said the new plan builds on earlier councils’ work. Scottsdale Independent
- ➤ Gov. Katie Hobbs signed House Bill 2074 on May 6, letting retired law enforcement officers serve as school resource officers in schools and expanding safety grant funds for equipment, infrastructure + training, while requiring each school to have one officer trained to interact with students with disabilities.
