  • Caryn and Steve Langen launched Running 4 Alec to help military families cover costs after their son was killed in a 2024 helicopter crash. They arranged hikes and repurposed Southwest Airlines volunteer hours into air tickets plus joined a Memorial Day hiking trip in Canada to honor his legacy.  ABC15 Arizona

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Scottsdale Community College partnered with the city and WestWorld to break ground on a 22,000 sqft equine science facility at the WestWorld campus today. The facility (including 10 horse stalls, two round pens, a hay shed, an equipment shed, and a farrier station) will provide training and centralize program instruction.  Arizona Digital Free Press

  • Former OSU coach Mike Gundy and former Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick will speak at the Fiesta Sports Foundation Football Kickoff on Friday, Aug. 21 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.
