- ➤ The NRCHA Kimes Ranch Derby returns to Scottsdale at WestWorld today and will run until June 7, marking its fifth year with free entry to a mix of rodeo and performance art. The event features a vendor village with western goods, competitions in herd work, rein work and fence work across nine divisions, and horse show classes adding over $52,750 in prize money—plus a bridle spectacular with an extra $25,000 prize. - ➤ Wicked will be shown one day on June 4 at select theaters in metro Phoenix (including Harkins Camelview 14 at Fashion Square in Scottsdale) at 3 p.m., and viewers will see the trailer for Wicked: For Good after the screening. - ➤ Banner Health broke ground last week on its new 120,000-square-foot Banner Health Center plus in Scottsdale—launching the first phase of a campus that will have a surgery center, pharmacy, imaging, and outpatient care. The project will add a 350,000-square-foot hospital with a 24/7 emergency room and 106 beds, and it will be reviewed later this year with plans to create 2,500 new jobs and boost the local economy.
