The Arizona Department of Transportation announced that parts of I-17 and Loop 101 are closed this weekend, with I-17 ramps to Loop 101 shut from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work and Loop 101 lanes narrowed, so drivers should allow extra travel time — using detour routes such as exits at Rose Garden Lane and Deer Valley Road — as schedules may change due to weather.

Drivers in Scottsdale are urged to keep items like food, medications, aerosol cans, and electronics out of parked cars today as summer heat can make a vehicle reach up to 140 degrees; experts say even 10 minutes inside can raise the temperature by 20 degrees.
