- ➤ A 77-year-old woman died at a hospital after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Thunderbird Road midblock near 7th Street at about 9 p.m. on June 19—police said impairment was not a factor. Scottsdale Independent
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Silver Alert was issued Saturday in Scottsdale for 72-year-old Jon Matich who has a condition that makes him easily disoriented and was last seen on foot at his home at 601 N. Hayden Road around 12:30 p.m. wearing a black and gray hat, blue shirt and jeans—authorities ask anyone with information to call 911. KTAR

- ➤ Scottsdale city attorneys will appear at 11:30 a.m. on June 23 in Maricopa Superior Court to address Goldwater Institute's request for an injunction aimed at stopping the new 0.15% sales tax that funds city improvements + council officials say the tax complies with the law and will take effect on July 1. - ➤ Real estate firm Cushman and Wakefield sold the Scottsdale Centre medical outpatient building to a local real estate investor for $44.58 million on June 21, with the 163,111-square-foot two-story property located at 7373 N Scottsdale Boulevard and 78% leased—66% to medical tenants and 34% to office tenants.
