- ➤ Scottsdale City Council approved $760K in funding on July 1 to support programs for housing, meals, nonprofit and child services across the city. The package also includes $250K for the Scottsdale Family Resource Center to continue early childhood activities—demonstrating the city’s dedication to assisting vulnerable populations. - ➤ State Sen. Jake Hoffman has proposed a ballot measure for 2026 that would ban taxing electric vehicle owners based on miles driven—he says it defends freedom to travel—as Arizona faces growing challenges in funding road repairs with more all-electric vehicles on the road. Lawmakers and ADOT will study driver usage later this year to update how fees are collected for highway maintenance. East Valley Tribune
