  • The Remi Scottsdale—Autograph Collection opened July 22 in Old Town, offering luxurious rooms and three dining options: the all-day diner F/Sixteen, the rooftop pool bar Allegra, and the Japanese-Southwestern restaurant Kauboi. The hotel is a joint venture between Crescent Hotels & Resorts and Alliance Hospitality Group—providing a unique blend of modern comfort and diverse cuisine in Scottsdale.  The Arizona Republic
  • California-based Mendocino Farms will open its first Arizona restaurant at Scottsdale Promenade in 2026—housed in a 3,000-square-foot building with a 500-square-foot patio at the corner of Scottsdale Road and Paradise Lane—and will serve sandwiches, salads, soups and housemade drinks. CEO Kevin Miles said Arizona is a key growth market as the chain expands its U.S. presence.  The Arizona Republic
  • The team behind Boondocks Patio and Grill is set to open a new wood-fired Mexican steakhouse called Pistoleros Parrilla in Scottsdale's entertainment district. The new 5,000-square-foot venue will open in the fourth quarter in a reconfigured former office building with an outdoor patio on the second story — it is located at 4333 N. Civic Center Plaza down the street from Boondocks Scottsdale.  ABC15 Arizona

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Scottsdale’s newest private school will serve neurodivergent and gifted students with a special program that meets their needs. Principal and founder Jenica Lindquist said the school will mix teaching methods—linking both groups—to help every student learn in a way that works best.  Scottsdale Independent
  • Seven Scottsdale natives graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison Campus this spring, earning degrees in fields including consumer behavior and marketplace studies, business finance, physical therapy, law, real estate and urban land economics, psychology, and communication arts—a press release said.  Scottsdale Independent

  • Researchers at ASU and Mayo Clinic are developing a rapid Valley fever test—using a finger stick or blood draw—that takes only 10 minutes to deliver results. The test has been licensed by Cactus Bio and could help doctors quickly decide the best treatment for patients.  KJZZ
  • A skin cancer survivor in Scottsdale urged residents to get regular skin checks to detect melanoma early—local experts warn that early detection is key in our high-sun state.  Scottsdale Independent
