COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Scottsdale Rising Young Professionals program is accepting applications for its 2026 board from professionals aged 23 to 39 who want to shape the city's future. Applications are open from July 25 to August 8 and finalists will be chosen on August 15—candidates must submit a letter of intent detailing work experience, current roles, and personal goals.  Scottsdale Independent

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Construction crews continue work on a $43 million Scottsdale Road project that began in November 2024 and will finish next summer. City Council cancelled the roundabout at Scottsdale Road and Dynamite Boulevard in favor of a traditional intersection—drivers must expect detours, lane restrictions, and a closure of Dixileta Drive from Monday, July 28 through Aug. 22.  Scottsdale Progress

HEALTH NEWS

  • Experts warn that this summer may bring dangerous heat that can cause heat stroke and worsen chronic conditions for seniors, according to a University of Southern California study. Older adults and caregivers should check local weather, drink plenty of water, and use cooling methods — like cool showers and fans — to stay safe as community cooling stations are available across Maricopa County.  Scottsdale Independent
