GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Scottsdale city leaders approved a pay raise for police on July 1 that raised base pay from $98,696 to $106,100 and added bonus pay for long service. The new plan includes a pay step over seven years and extra benefits — placing the department among the top three paid agencies in the Valley.  Scottsdale Progress
  • Scottsdale Police Chief Joe LeDuc, permanently named in April, is focusing on building community trust and dealing with issues like disruptive short-term rentals—he plans to boost his team with new hires and maintain open communication with residents. HEALTH NEWS

  • A Scottsdale sports medicine clinic, Desert Spine and Sports Physicians, hired Dr. Paul Pannozzo (M.D.) to treat chronic pain with non-surgical methods. He finished his training at Ohio State University Medical Center and completed extra training in pain management to help patients get back on their feet.  Scottsdale Independent
  • Patients in Scottsdale are choosing smaller plastic surgery procedures that give them a natural look instead of large implants. Dr. Oren Tessler at Defyne Plastic Surgery says his practice sees more requests for breast reductions and male chest contouring—trends driven by health and fitness goals.  City Sun Times
