  • Sweetgreen, a popular East Coast salad chain, is opening its first Arizona restaurant at Scottsdale Quarter on Sept. 23 with seating for 30 indoors and 36 outdoors in a 2,515-square-foot space (it will serve salads, bowls, and protein plates). A second location in Phoenix is set to open later this fall.  The Arizona Republic

  • A report by GOBankingRates shows Scottsdale is Phoenix’s wealthiest suburb with 1 in 17 residents a millionaire and a mean income of $168,679—today its average home value is $946,327, though Paradise Valley and top national suburbs like Scarsdale report higher earnings. This data underscores Scottsdale’s local wealth amid broader comparisons across the country.  The Arizona Republic

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Nearly 7,000 people signed up for the annual Summer Reading Challenge at Scottsdale Public Libraries where about 3,300 reached 1,000 reading minutes and participants logged 7 million minutes of reading. The library hosted 200 free programs that reached more than 7,500 people and provided over 3,700 free lunches through the Kids Café—a partnership with Scottsdale Unified School District.  Scottsdale Independent

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Maricopa County Sheriff's Office restored its mugshot lookup page after a federal appeals court ruled the old version unconstitutional—its revised page now shows names, booking numbers, and charges along with a disclaimer that all are innocent until proven guilty while omitting personal details like height and weight. Other counties in Arizona continue to keep their mugshot pages suspended pending further review.  The Arizona Republic

  • Arizona State football is set for a promising season with coach Kenny Dillingham and his wife Bri, who supports the team by managing household tasks and baking cookies—efforts that strengthen team morale.
