- ➤ Drivers in Arizona planning to travel on Labor Day weekend should plan ahead because heavy traffic is expected on Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Monday with ADOT advising extra time on I-17 near Flagstaff where lane restrictions may slow traffic—other routes such as SR 87, SR 260 and US 93 will also be busy. There are no state highway closures scheduled from September 1 to 5—travelers are urged to check conditions frequently and carry an emergency kit. The Arizona Republic
