BUSINESS NEWS

  • Pinyon, a new coastal Mediterranean restaurant from Hi Noon Hospitality, will open on Oct. 29 at 7363 E. Scottsdale Mall—its menu will include flavors from 22 Mediterranean countries with a rotating Hummusiya selection, fresh seafood, pastas, seasonal salads, small plates and an extensive bar program.  Scottsdale Independent

CULTURE NEWS

  • Scottsdale Arts, led by CEO Gerd Wuestemann, will mark its 50th anniversary with events including a Canal Convergence light show from Nov. 7 to 16 and an Alison Krauss concert on Nov. 1 as the nonprofit plans a new theater and festival amid city concerns over spending. The organization aims to blend technology with tradition while addressing funding challenges and increased fiscal oversight from city leaders.  Scottsdale Progress
  • Royse Contemporary, located at 7077 E. EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Arizona Department of Education released the spring 2025 test results that show overall scores in math, reading and writing remained nearly unchanged while students with cognitive disabilities scored lower. Scottsdale Unified and Higley Unified led Maricopa County with the highest pass rates in both math and English.  The Arizona Republic

  • Arizona State beat No. 7 Texas Tech 26-22 on Oct 18 at Mountain America Stadium—coming off a loss to Utah, the Sun Devils made a smart last-minute drive that ended with a one-yard touchdown run by Raleek Brown.
