- ➤ Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce will host the Women of Valor luncheon on Nov. 6 at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort and Villas from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. — the event will honor four women veterans who turned military service into business and community leadership. Arizona Digital Free Press
- ➤ Grimaldi’s, in partnership with Scottsdale PD, will hold Tip-A-Cop from 4 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 23 at its three Scottsdale locations — 20715 N. Pima Road, 4000 N. Scottsdale Road, and 15147 N. - ➤ Sweetgreen will open its second location on Camelback Road and 32nd Street near Biltmore after a successful start at Scottsdale Quarter. The restaurant will serve chef-crafted salads and warm bowls with open kitchens and a loyalty program+ for every meal purchased on opening day a meal will be donated to St. Mary’s Food Bank. - ➤ Gas prices in Arizona dropped to $3.38 a gallon, down 24 cents in the last month after a refinery fire raised prices early in the month. Patrick Dehaan with GasBuddy said oil from Asian markets and a planned pipeline by Oneok may help ease future supply issues—ensuring steadier prices if disruptions occur. KJZZ

- ➤ Federal cuts to food programs and new SNAP work requirements are forcing Arizona nonprofits to reduce services and staff—NourishPHX, for example, terminated eight employees as food pantry requests rose by 25% annually and donations dropped nearly 20%.
