- ➤ Scottsdale Civic Center will limit access until Nov. 17 for two events — the Dreamy Draw Music Festival on Nov. 7 from 3 to 11 p.m. and on Nov. 8 from 1 to 11 p.m. and Every Woman’s Marathon with a pre-race expo on Nov. 14 from 2 to 6 p.m. followed by the race on Nov. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; drivers along the Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt are advised to expect delays. - ➤ Scottsdale Arts hosts Canal Convergence 2025, a free art show running along the Scottsdale Waterfront from Nov. 7—16. The event will include ten art exhibits and nearly 100 workshops and live shows that focus on the SHOWTIME theme and allow public participation. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ Artist Gary Ernest Smith will host the Evening Majesty program at Western Spirit from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 at 3830 N. Marshall Way in Scottsdale — the event will include insights into his work and a reception at Bonner David Galleries where his art will be on display. Scottsdale Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Two-thirds of Arizona's K-12 district funding proposals won voter support on Nov. 4 as measures including budget increases, override continuations, and bonds passed in multiple districts. Education advocates said the unofficial results—still being finalized—will help secure basic funding to keep schools running amid long-term underfunding. Scottsdale Independent
- ➤ Scottsdale Unified School District will hold a public meeting on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. at Coronado High School (7501 E. Virginia Ave.) to hear opinions on the possible closure of Pima Elementary and Echo Canyon K-8 schools. District superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel recommended the closures to address an $8 million funding shortfall caused partly by declining enrollment, and the board will vote on the issue on Dec. 9. - ➤ The Bentley Scottsdale Polo Championships will hold its first Army vs. Navy match at noon Saturday, Nov. 8 at WestWorld of Scottsdale — a tribute to military service ahead of Veterans Day.
