- ➤ Child Crisis Arizona held its annual Lunch for Love fundraiser at Arizona Biltmore Resort on Oct 30 — nearly 500 guests attended and raised more than $1M in one hour. - ➤ The Scottsdale Fire Department has kicked off its annual toy drive and is accepting unwrapped toys and gift cards through Dec. 22 at fire stations and headquarters around Scottsdale—donations will be given to partner groups that support families in need. - ➤ Scottsdale Unified School District plans to close or repurpose Pima and Echo Canyon elementary schools to address a budget shortfall and declining enrollment, and parents as well as students are angry about the idea.
