COMMUNITY NEWS

  • At the Granite Reef Scottsdale Senior Center, boxes, bags, and baked goods are ready for the Adopt-a-Senior Program as it meets record need—care packages will support 400 seniors compared to the usual 330 due to rising costs. Qualifying seniors can still sign up for Christmas packages if they missed Thanksgiving care—donations are also welcome to help offset increasing expenses.  ABC15 Arizona

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Arizonans are urged to support local small businesses on Small Business Saturday, which will be held on Nov. 29th — many shops and restaurants offer special deals and online ordering for family shopping. The celebration, founded in 2010, drives community growth and encourages residents to invest locally during the holiday season.  Scottsdale Independent
  • Estelle, a new bar and dining destination spread over two floors, opened at 4439 N. Saddlebag Trail in Old Town Scottsdale. The 5800 square feet venue can host 400 guests and offers a mix of Mediterranean and Mexican flavors, golden hour specials and new moon nighttime events—designed to give guests an inviting daytime atmosphere and a warm rooftop escape at night.  Scottsdale Independent

CULTURE NEWS

  • Scottsdale ensemble SoSco Duo, led by Alex Mack & Laura Strickland, will perform two free concerts to kick off the holiday season. They have performed for over a decade at weddings, private events and memorials while sharing contemporary, classical and Celtic music with local audiences.  Scottsdale Independent

HEALTH NEWS

  • Scottsdale Fashion Square partnered with the American Red Cross for a holiday blood drive on Nov. 26 that ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a Bloodmobile in the south parking lot near Capital One Cafe—another drive will run on Dec. 29 at the same time and location with donors receiving a gift card for a complimentary drink. Donors of all blood types were welcome on Nov. 26 and will be welcome on Dec. 29.  Scottsdale Independent

SPORTS NEWS

  • Arizona State jumped from No.25 to No.20 after beating Colorado 42-17 while Arizona entered the Top 25 with a 41-17 win over Baylor—both teams will face each other Friday in Tempe for the Territorial Cup game.  Scottsdale Independent
