  • Tenants at Scottsdale Airport will not access Gate 1 or hangars until Friday, Dec. 12 due to construction; the project will rehabilitate 322 feet of taxi lane (call 480 312-8478 for details).  Scottsdale Independent

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Arizona builders are adopting EyeBuild for its AI-powered construction cameras to boost jobsite security and workflow efficiency. Tinker Development recently deployed the system on a new custom home in Paradise Valley and said it saves time and prevents delays.  Scottsdale Independent
  • The Hayden Corporate Center at 8283 N. Hayden Road in Scottsdale sold for $10 million to Revelation RE on Monday, Dec. 8 according to a press release from Cushman & Wakefield — owners plan to renovate the interior and exterior and upgrade major building systems.  Scottsdale Independent

CULTURE NEWS

  • Kimes Ranch announced updated dates and a reimagined entertainment lineup for the Million Dollar Breakaway and Rising Stars events set at WestWorld of Scottsdale from Dec. 16-21; final concerts will be held Dec. 18-20 featuring Jeremy McComb, Josh Meloy and Austin Burke.  Scottsdale Independent
  • David Byrne of Talking Heads will bring his tour to Phoenix with a performance at Arizona Financial Theatre on Tuesday, April 21. Tickets and VIP packages go on sale Friday, Dec. 12 (details available on the official site).  The Arizona Republic

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Nearly 600 students and families may learn today if Echo Canyon School and Pima Elementary will close due to low enrollment – the district plans to repurpose the buildings for new academic options pending board approval.  ABC15 Arizona

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Arizona State Board of Education met Monday to consider removing DEI language from school teaching standards as Superintendent Tom Horne warned that federal funding is at risk (the board had previously delayed the discussion). SPORTS NEWS

  • Trade talks around Ketel Marte picked up during winter meetings, though Diamondbacks GM Mike Hazen expects to keep him while exploring options for adding starting pitchers – the club also signed free-agent right-hander Michael Soroka pending a physical.  The Arizona Republic
