- ➤ Michelin inspectors are visiting local restaurants as part of the Michelin Guide Southwest expansion, which includes Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Winners will be announced in a 2026 ceremony after evaluating quality, flavor harmony and cooking technique. The Arizona Republic
- ➤ Scottsdale Museum of the West will open the Curt Walters: Resilience exhibit on Jan. 17, 2026, featuring 20 paintings by the acclaimed artist renowned for Grand Canyon scenes; the exhibit will run through April 12 (including recognized works such as 'First Touch of Winter' and 'Inexorable Shiprock'). - ➤ Dr. Gerd Wuestemann of Scottsdale Arts told City Council that his team has worked hard over the past six months — refreshing the Center for the Performing Arts with new carpet and woodwork for its 50th anniversary season, booking more than 150 acts, and compiling a commemorative book. - ➤ Scottsdale Unified School District has transformed the former Tonalea Elementary site into the new 68th and Oak Street Athletic Facility featuring soccer fields, sand volleyball courts and community spaces. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. to celebrate the opening. City Sun Times
- ➤ Scottsdale Unified School District board voted Tuesday night to close Pima Elementary School and Echo Canyon School next fall due to falling enrollment and a budget deficit (up to $9 million) and will support affected families and staff. ABC15 Arizona
- ➤ Dec. 5 marked the 38th Holiday Prelude at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa, where donors and educators supported youth arts education by funding Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchestras and Phoenix Theatre Company Guild programs that offer hands-on learning and mentoring to students.
