  • WWE Superstar Nikki Bella, raised in Scottsdale, will serve as Grand Marshal for the 53rd Vrbo Fiesta Bowl Parade scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 in central Phoenix (she is celebrated for her community ties) as part of the lead-up to the College Football Playoff Semifinal.  Arizona Digital Free Press

  • W Scottsdale is set to host its annual New Year’s Eve Party on Tuesday, Dec. 31, featuring Bridgerton-inspired décor, live performers & a midnight fireworks show, while The REMI.   • A financial report by WalletHub showed Arizona ranked 10th in diversity among US states, with high scores in household income, birthplace, and language measures. The study, released in September 2025, compared six key metrics (socioeconomic, cultural, and family factors) to rank each state.  The Arizona Republic

  • Kevin Burke will take over as Scottsdale’s senior director of economic development and tourism on Dec. 29. He brings over 15 years of experience including his recent role as deputy director of Tucson’s Office of Economic Initiatives.  Scottsdale Independent

  • Medicare scam calls have been reported after callers verify personal Medicare details and offer cash incentives. Local residents are urged to avoid sharing information and to report suspicious calls to the Attorney General (for consumer protection).  The Arizona Republic

  • Following Sam Leavitt’s entry into the transfer portal, Arizona State is looking to add a quarterback from options including Dylan Raiola, DJ Lagway, and Colton Joseph as the transfer period opens Jan. 2 (supporting the Sun Devils’ evolving offense in Tempe).  The Arizona Republic
