COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Scottsdale-based Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation has donated $100,000 to the Arizona Food Bank Network to support food pantries and distribution centers serving SNAP recipients across the region. The donation aims to help more than 700,000 food insecure people monthly.  Scottsdale Independent

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Chapin House opened at 6310 N. Scottsdale Road in Town of Paradise Valley on Nov. 12. The grand opening featured shopping + light bites with 25% of sales benefiting PANDA as the new store now offers antiques, art, home décor, and a curated boutique of modern and vintage items.  Arizona Digital Free Press
  • Grimaldi’s CEO Joseph M. Ciolli moved the company’s headquarters to Scottsdale after graduating from ASU, growing the pizza brand—rooted in New York’s tradition—to serve more than 10 states and international markets, including a recent opening in Dubai.  Scottsdale Independent
  • Scottsdale resorts remain fully booked despite Christmas falling midweek. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and others offer seasonal activities (ice skating among them) to attract visitors for a busy holiday season.  Scottsdale Independent

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting remains open for holiday visitors and educational tours despite recent storm damage. It will co-sponsor a movie night on Jan. 24 at Western Spirit with a 7 p.m. screening of the silent film 'The Fire Brigade,' and tickets cost $20 (cash only).  City Sun Times

HEALTH NEWS

  • Maricopa County health inspectors cited a Scottsdale Italian restaurant for five health violations during the week of Dec. 8, including bare-hand contact with ice, unsanitized dish equipment and a clogged sink with standing water. Staff immediately discarded contaminated ice and sanitized glassware to meet health standards.  The Arizona Republic

  • Scottsdale Stadium (7408 E. Osborn Road) will host the 2026 West Coast Conference Baseball Tournament May 20–23, where six college teams will compete in a double-elimination format culminating in a championship on Saturday and tickets will go on sale in March.  Scottsdale Independent
