BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Phoenix-based Banner Health filed for a conditional use permit on July 14 to begin zoning a $400 million, 640,000-square-foot medical campus in north Scottsdale at the southwest corner of Hayden Road and Loop 101. The project includes a 300-bed hospital and follows May’s groundbreaking of a 120,000-square-foot facility (Banner Health Care Plus) after Banner bought the 48-acre parcel for $57.6 million in March 2023. - ➤ Tim Daly, CEO of EdNavigator, said summer vacation benefits wealthier students since they can attend camps and work summer jobs (while lower-income kids mostly spend time on screens) and added that proposals such as subsidized job programs and summer vouchers may help narrow this growing inequality. His comments highlight how rising summer heat and high costs further limit outdoor play and enriching activities for many students. KJZZ
