- ➤ Scottsdale has named Jenna Kohl as its new preserve director, and she will begin on Sept 22 to care for the McDowell Sonoran Preserve — a vast area with over 225 miles of trails. - ➤ Scottsdale Arts and Cattle Track Arts Compound are joining forces to launch a creative partnership that will boost art programs by managing key parts of the Cattle Track facility while keeping current studio artists and residents in place. The partnership includes ArtSpark—a career-development program offering a stipend, studio space, and courses for emerging artists—with plans for new gallery spaces and an event on Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.; applications close Sept. 15. - ➤ HonorHealth became the first U.S. health care system to use the Spur Peripheral Retrievable Stent System to treat narrowed below-the-knee arteries by widening blockages with a balloon and offering temporary support without a permanent implant. Doctors Hasan Aldailami and Mitri Khoury performed the first procedure at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center in May — the treatment aims to improve blood flow and help patients avoid amputation.
